From December 4 to 5, Dean Wu Zhenjun of the College of Humanities and Law of Tianjin University of Science & Technology led a delegation to Zhejiang Wanli University, China Jiliang University, Nanjing University of Science and Technology and Jiangsu University for a thematic study tour, focusing on the application for an intellectual property master's programme and professional development, learning advanced experience and planning a development path. The study tour was intended to implement the deployment of Tianjin's "15th Five-Year Plan" and the University's "Pioneer Plan", deepen professional reform and enhance the capacity to serve local economic and social development.
The study team engaged in in-depth exchanges with the four institutions on core topics including strategies for applying for an intellectual property master's programme, innovation in talent development models, university-locality cooperation mechanisms and faculty development. At Zhejiang Wanli University, the team focused on learning the university's experience in serving local industry, cultivating interdisciplinary faculty and operating the board of council mechanism. China Jiliang University shared the core strategies and techniques for applying for an intellectual property master's programme, including valuable practices such as integrating faculty, condensing research directions and effective liaison with competent authorities. Nanjing University of Science and Technology presented its distinctive "engineering plus intellectual property" deeply integrated training system, particularly the successful model of the "3+1+2" innovative practice class and the second bachelor's degree programme. Jiangsu University, speaking from the perspective of a member of the academic affairs committee, emphasized the core philosophy of "industry-oriented, cross-disciplinary integration and empowerment through practice", and provided systematic guidance on application positioning, faculty restructuring and reform of the training model.
